This driver was simply not paying attention and now has an expensive insurance case to deal with.

Middlesex County commuter and Redditor /u/LMG9 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in August (Aug, 13, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an inattentive driver on Fenwick St. bolting out into traffic without yielding properly and t-boning OP, a dashcam owner, as a result.

Check out the dashcam footage for yourself below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident took place at the intersection of Fenwick St. and Jaques St. in Somerville (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s travelling on Jacques when he comes up to the aforementioned intersection.

A driver in a red Ford F-150 can be seen creeping out into the intersection ahead of OP.

Here’s the F-150 driver’s POV, with stop signs, the onus is on them to yield to traffic safely with the right of way.

The driver’s view of Jacques St.

The F-150 driver does not yield safely and continues driving forward, oblivious to OP driving in front of him.

We hear a loud crunch and the F-150 driver T-bones OP.

As the title hints at, the F-150 driver denies any wrongdoing; however, their insurance will be keen to see this dashcam footage, which should undoubtedly clear up any misunderstanding.

“I’ve been seeing this all the time lately. People making turns without looking both ways or going when they don’t have the right of way,” the top comment from /u/snarkasm_0228 reads.

“Dude must be legally blind but doesn’t know it yet,” /u/TheW83 semi-humorously added.

“He’s using the word “swerved”, but I don’t think it means what he thinks it means,” /u/truemad pointed out.

Under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 89, Section 9, a driver who fails to yield the right of way may be fined up to $150. This fine applies to situations where the violation does not involve serious injury or death.
