The light turned red at Coit and Dumont and, over the course of 20 seconds, 30+ bikers continued to ride through.
Dallas-area driver and Redditor /u/aadu_maadu shared headshaking dashcam footage from Coit Rd from earlier last week (Sept 7, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the infuriating moment when 30+ bikers all decided to run a red light over the course of 20+ seconds, enraging one SUV driver in particular.
Check out the dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of Coit Rd. and Dumont Dr. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving along Coit Rd headed towards the aforementioned intersection.
OP, along with other regular traffic, is sharing the road with literally dozens of bikers on sports bikes and regular Harley-type motorcycles.
OP stops at the intersection because of a red light, but not the bikers.
They continue riding through the T-intersection because they think they can without repercussion.
A driver in a black Chevrolet Tahoe on Dumont with the right of way begins his left turn, but is stopped by the never-ending flow of riders.
All in all, 33 bikers ran the red light.
The Tahoe driver, enraged, chucks a bottle of liquid in their general direction, hitting nothing in particular.
The drink lands on the ground, exploding its contents.
Finally, all the bikes in the group make it across with the driver in the Tahoe following close behind.
So, a large group ride without a permit, no cops to close the intersections, they just do it themselves,” the top comment from /u/Interesting_Mix_7028 reads.
“SUV driver has every right to be pissed off. And I say this as a motorcycle rider.”
“I hate that s***, groups of motorcycles have no exception to traffic laws outside of funerals and parades. They do that crap here all the time and will do the “blocking” of the traffic lines that are allowed to go, so they can run red lights,” /u/raistan77 concurred.
“That SUV has every right to get mad.”
99% of the comments in that thread shared the above sentiment, that the driver in the SUV had every right to be miffed.
Fines for running a red light in Texas vary by jurisdiction but violators can expect a fine of $290 before all the fees and two points on their driving record.
Although everyone sympathizes with the SUV driver, they did litter. In Texas, violators are subject to a fine of up to $500 before fees, possible jail time, or both.
