A Honda Fit driver is extremely lucky after blowing through this intersection without slowing.
Montgomery County driver and Redditor /u/somebody_throw_a_pie shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in March (Mar. 8, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a Honda Fit blasting through this 4-way stop, showing no signs of slowing.
Were they looking at their phone, or did they just zone out?
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of Prince Philip Dr. and Spartan Rd. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed southbound on Prince Philip Dr, headed towards the aforementioned intersection at approximately 4 P.M.
OP comes to a stop and then observes a driver in a Honda Fit headed northbound completely blast through the 4-way stop without slowing at all.
Where they zoned out or distracted? Your guess is as good as mine.
Thankfully, no one had the same idea coming the other way, nor were there pedestrians crossing at the time.
This was obviously a stop sign violation if there ever was one.
“They’re gonna start to care when that tin can of a car gets flattened if they continue to drive like that,” the top comment from /u/11B-33T reads.“
“It’s going to do its job of keeping them alive like all modern cars, and then they’ll get another one and do the same stuff. My hottest take is that cars shouldn’t sacrifice themselves to protect you when you crash into shit at highway speeds,” /u/ReallyBigRocks replied.
“Hey, they stopped at the last intersection. Don’t you know they’re very important and in a hurry? /s,” /u/ngoni sarcastically added.
In Maryland, failing to stop at a stop sign carries a $90 fine and 1 point on your driving record. If the violation contributes to a crash, the fine can increase to about $130. The offense is recorded as failure to stop at a stop sign under Maryland traffic law.
