What kind of driver backs up without looking at a crowded gas station? Apparently, this guy.
Monroe County driver and Redditor /u/chz420710 shared headshaking dashcam footage from this SNK Fuels gas station from earlier last week (Sept 8, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing one careless driver reversing from this gas pump without so much as looking in his rear view mirror.
Check out the case of poor driving behaviour below.
The incident happened at this SNK Fuels Gas Station in the 1400 block of Jefferson Rd. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam footage shows, OP pulls into the gas station at one of the inner pumps.
Suddenly, a driver in a Blue Toyota Camry LE engages reverse as evidenced by the white reverse lights and begins to back towards OP.
A small correction to get a better pumping position, it was not as if OP didn’t reverse themselves, he would’ve been hit.
The Camry driver puts up his hand as if to ask forgiveness, acknowledging his mistake.

“It looked like attempted insurance fraud to me,” /u/Jamcdonald120 commented. You back into someone so it looks like you got rear-ended.”
“That Camry got the wibble wobbles of ended suspension,” /u/Owls_4_9_1867 pointed out.
“Those Camrys gotta get those unsightly idiot dents in those rear bumpers somehow,” /u/Rabid_Stormtroopers pointed out, referencing the car phenomenon of Toyota Camrys with rear bumper dents.
In New York, backing unsafely—even in a gas station—can add 2 points to your license and carry a fine up to $150 plus surcharges. Accumulating points can affect insurance, incur Driver Responsibility Assessment fees, or even lead to license suspension
