Cutting through this gas station is not only illegal, he almost caused his own head-on collision.
St. Louis commuter and Redditor /u/og_lg_stl shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in October (Oct 9, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an absolute imbecile brute forcing his way across double solid yellow lines and opposing traffic to save himself a few seconds by cutting through this gas station.

The incident occurred near the intersection with McCauseland Ave. and Manchester Ave. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP makes a left turn onto Manchester from McCauseland, properly yielding for cross traffic with the right of way.
As he begins to pass the gas station, a driver in a silver Ford Explorer coming from the opposite direction brute forces their way across double solid yellow lines across OP’s driving path.
OP does his best to brake, narrowly avoiding what would’ve been a head-on collision.
Thankfully, nothing comes of the incident and, rather calmly, OP continues on his way.

If cited in Missouri for crossing double solid yellow lines to turn left across opposing traffic into a driveway via a gas station cut-through, that driver’d likely be charged with improper left turn / failure to obey pavement markings under Mo. Rev. Stat. §304.015 and §304.029. The typical fine for this violation is around $50–$200, and 2 points would be added to their driving record. This assumes no collision occurred; if there were a crash, penalties could be more severe.
