If you live in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Jacksonville, you might want to watch out for this speed racer.

Jacksonville driver and Redditor /u/OK-Koala-1402 shared headshaking dashcam footage from this Hyde Park neighborhood from earlier in September (Sept 23,2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a speeding Nissan driver blitzing his way through this neighborhood in blatant disregard for the rules of the road.

Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

As mentioned, the incident happened in a Hyde Park neighborhood along Hyde Grove Ave. (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

In the video we can see OP cruising along, minding his own business on the aforementioned street.

Suddenly, a driver in a dark colored Nissan Maxima blazes past him at well above the posted speed limit.

OP claims he was going the speed limit at 40 (although my research shows the limit was 30) so this racecar driver for Nissan must’ve been going at least 55 MPH.

If crossing over a double solid yellow wasn’t enough, now that he was committed to speeding and in an apperent rush, the Maxima driver resorts to what’s called “rat running” by cutting into the local Smoke Shop parking lot to cut a car waiting to go at the next intersection.

And that’s where the video ends, the Maxima driver speeding off into the Florida sunset.

“Standard Altima behavior,” the top comment from /u/conspicucous_ruse reads, although, as noted, it is a Maxima.

“Smells like Florida,” local /u/onastyinc added.

In Florida, this level of speeding, about 25 MPH over the posted limit, warrants a driver a $175 base fine and 4 points on your record.

Rat running gets you another $60 base fine and 3 points on your record.
