On top of that, this harebrained driver didn’t have their headlights on.

Minneapolis area driver and Redditor /u/ZEROs0000 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in November (Nov 1, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsinCars subreddit showing a confused driver slipping into oncoming traffic before hopping on I-94.

Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened along the 2100 block of N Washington Ave (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is driving along Washington when, upon reaching the intersection with N 21st Ave, a driver to the left of him bears left of the center median and enters oncoming Washington Ave traffic.

Keen eyes pointed out that, not only did they not know how to follow simple road markings, they had their lights off at 8 in the evening, too.

At least one car does its best to dodge the careless driver.

To get out of there as quickly as possible, the driver does a somewhat sane move and takes the I-94 onramp to his left, now headed in the right direction.

“Title forgot to add that he has no lights on either. Obviously, a very distracted or absent-minded driver. Couldn’t possibly be a DUI /s,” the top comment from /u/South_Hat3525 reads.

“They were having a tough time trying to get to the bottom of a bottle,” /u/FeelTall replied.

“Hey, it’s Minneapolis,” local /u/joetron2030 added.

In Minneapolis, driving against traffic violates Minn. Stat. § 169.18 and can be treated as reckless driving under Minn. Stat. § 169.13 if it creates a substantial risk. Reckless driving is a misdemeanor and carries 2.5 points on Minnesota’s driving record system. Fines vary by circumstance but can be several hundred dollars. (revisor.mn.gov)
