A driver in a Ford Expedition was caught on dashcam on I-376, likely dozing off behind the wheel before driving into a ditch.
Parkway West commuter and Redditor /u/CHChChCh71102 shared shocking dashcam footage from earlier in November (Nov 16, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an inattentive driver likely nodding off behind the wheel, causing them to drift straight, instead of turning, landing them in a ditch.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened on a stretch of Parkway West, technically in Coraopolis (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving along a part of I-376, which starts to bend to the right slightly.
Drivers, if they’re not paying attention, can, and probably often, continue to go straight.
A driver in a silver Ford Expedition in the slow lane does exactly that, goes straight through the bend.
Thankfully, them driving into a soft, grass-filled ditch is enough to jolt them out of their sleep.
We can see the driver slamming on their brakes, likely coming to a smooth, but adrenaline-filled stop.
“On the plus side, they didn’t wake up, autocorrect, and make things worse. Looks like they were slowing down, which was probably the right choice,” one of the top comments from /u/waylonsmithersjr reads.
If you fall asleep behind the wheel in Pennsylvania, you can be charged with careless driving (75 Pa. C.S. § 3714), which is a summary offense. (Driving Laws) The conviction typically carries 3 points on your license and a fine of up to $300 before all the fees (or $250 if no injury, up to $500 if someone is killed). (Driving Laws)
It’s worth reiterating that driving tired can be just as risky as driving drunk, sometimes even worse, because it messes with your judgment, reaction time, and alertness just as much, if not more.

That’s just before McClaren road exit. It’s not Coraopolis. That location is Findlay Township.
