This particular intersection is notorious for turning drivers cutting into opposing traffic, and this wise guy took it to the next level.

Roy-area commuter and Redditor /u/blackoutusb shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Dec 8, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver resorting to fully driving into the turn lane of opposing traffic just to undercut OP.

Check out the insane move taken to the next level below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the intersection of S Midland Dr. and 4000 S (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is on Midland Dr, making a left onto 4000 S from the innermost turn lane of the two.

They get the green, and drivers proceed to turn left.

Suddenly, a driver in a white Honda Accord appears to his left, undercutting him, fully cutting into the left turn lane of opposing traffic.

OP has to back off the gas to slow down to avoid t-boning the reckless driver.

Thankfully, OP doesn’t hit them, and both drivers get out of the situation unscathed, despite the situation being unnecessary to begin with.

“They probably saw the SUV in front of you cut the corner and were like, “You call that cutting a corner? THIS is how you cut a corner!” /u/the top comment from /u/KaJuNator reads.

“Now that’s the reply!! So many people cut that corner, it is crazy,” OP replied.

“I’m going to take a guess. The left turn arrow was yellow, about to turn red. The driver behind you decided to stop, and the white car behind them said f*** that noise and went for it,” /u/Chaosmusic hypothesized.

In Utah, cutting in front of another driver in a turn can be cited as an improper or unsafe lane change under Utah Code § 41‑6a‑710. The fine is typically around $130 before all the fees, and it usually adds 40–50 demerit points to your driving record.
