This clueless driver, not paying attention, breezed through this red light like it wasn’t there.
King County driver and Redditor /u/electrosk8r shared headshaking dashcam footage from the Westfield Southcenter from earlier in February (Feb 8, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an inattentive, and frankly reckless driver, driving through and blowing past a red light at this intersection like it wasn’t even there.
Check out the incriminating dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened in the 200 block of Strander Blvd at the intersection of the driveway into Westfield Southcenter (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is in the rightmost lane of Strander Blvd when he approaches the aforementioned intersection.
About 75 feet in front of him is a driver in a Honda HR-V.
Clearly visible in the footage, despite traffic on Strander facing a red light for several seconds, the driver in the HR-V approaches the intersection with no signs of slowing and blows past the red light.
A pedestrian approaching the crosswalk sees it all play out and shakes his head OP’s way as if to say, “Can you believe this guy?”
“Was heading to the liquor store to pick up a few things before the Super Bowl and caught this on the way there. Person just runs the stalest red. Could’ve been very bad if it were busier. The pedestrian and I exchanged a look and were in disbelief.”
One comment was wondering if there were red light cameras in the area, and, according to Tukwila Municipal Court’s website, this location is not one of them.
In Tukwila, Wash., running a red light usually carries a fine around $136 before all the fees. Washington doesn’t use a points system, but violations are tracked and can affect your license over time. (24car-repair.com)
