An aggressive driver tried his usual trick, but it didn’t work in the snow. Ends up crashing.

Union County driver and Redditor /u/AnyOkra20 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Feb 25, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an aggressive driver trying their usual overtaking tactics on Morris Ave, except they realized too late it doesn’t work when you don’t have traction.

Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened along the 1500 block of Morris Ave, right across from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the rear view of OP’s dashcam shows, they’re headed westbound on Morris towards Field Rd.

A driver in a white Toyota Camry can be seen approaching OP’s rear bumper fast before seemingly making a U-turn into opposing traffic and crashing into the side of a Ford Mustang.

But why?

It would appear they were trying to make a u-turn but, in reality, they were trying to simultaneously change lanes and accelerate to overtake at the same time.

As pointed out by /u/NarrowSalvo.

“…any regular snow driver knows that you might have traction as your tires are in the grooves, but when you shift lanes your tires go onto the patches of snow between lanes and between your tires. One tire on each of those low-traction areas at the same time. Not when you want to be accelerating.”

And as pointed out, they crashed next to a church, so maybe they popped in to rethink their driving maneuvers after he, hopefully, gave over his insurance info.

“The joy this brings to me, although I feel bad for the innocent cars involved,” one of the top comments from /u/AngryUnibrow1 reads.

“Play stupid games…..win stupid prizes!!!!,” /u/Meissoboredtoo added.

In New Jersey, crashing into oncoming traffic while overtaking in snow can result in a moving violation for improper passing, carrying 5 points and a fine. Drivers are legally required to adjust for weather conditions, so losing traction doesn’t excuse the violation. More serious crashes could also lead to reckless driving charges with stiffer penalties.
