This useless driver didn’t see the giant arrows informing him he was headed into the wrong turn lane.
Greenville-area driver and Redditor /u/ceejtankgaming shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in February (Feb 26, 2026) to the /r/MildlyBadDrivers subreddit showing an ignorant driver ignoring road markings and, more importantly, the rules of the road, brute forcing their way into the wrong turn lane, against traffic, despite the correct turn lane being only a few feet away.
Check out what this dashcam owner described as “This is every day in Greenville, NC. (Just) bad drivers everywhere,” below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened in the 1000 block of E Arlington Blvd. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
Here’s the birds-eye view of the situation.

In the dashcam footage, OP merges onto E Arlington Blvd. and attempts to slip into a turn lane directly in front of him.
As the view above shows, a driver on Wimbledon Dr. turns right and, in an attempt to head south on Arlington, slips into the nearest turn lane, except it’s the wrong one meant for northbound traffic.
What they don’t realize or refuse to use is that there’s already a dedicated center turn lane if they drove a few feet more.
Regardless, they’d rather brute force their way into the wrong turn lane, against the rules of the road, and, on top of that, block traffic, OP included, because of course their truck can’t cleanly make a U-turn without a multi-point turn.
The more likely explanation is that they just assumed this was their turn lane, to which OP points out that,
“If only there were giant arrows to help indicate direction of travel,” OP sarcastically concluded his caption.
I mean, how could you miss them? Here’s the clearest POV off Maps.

“…with bald, shiny tires too lol,” the top comment from /u/Upnorth4 pointed out.
“A friendly wave afterward supersedes traffic regulations,” /u/ProfDFH added, pointing out how they waved off his idiot move as nothing more than an inconvenience.
In North Carolina, driving against traffic in a wrong-turn lane is considered driving the wrong way on a one-way street or improper lane use, which can result in a $100–$200 fine. It may also add 3 points to your driving record. Repeat offenses or crashes could lead to higher fines and additional penalties under state law.
