“I hate sharing the road with some people,” this Somerset County driver titled his dashcam submission.
Somerset County-area driver and Redditor /u/itsNeo33 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in June (June 1, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a reckless driver on Somerset Pike choosing to take a corner headed against traffic.
Check out the hare-brained move below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident occurred in the 7000 block of Somerset Pike/PA-985, a little more than half a mile from Rolling Hills Rd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed northbound up Somerset Pike towards the aforementioned T-intersection.
As he approaches a slight left, a driver headed the opposite way in a Jeep Grand Cherokee L decides to swing wide, headed blind into a corner, against traffic, and towards OP.
On a collision course with OP but totally on purpose, the Cherokee L driver swings out the way at the last second, coming within inches of colliding in what would’ve been one expensive and likely injurious crash.
“Let’s be clear. You were sharing the road; they weren’t,” one of the top comments from /u/Harlander77 reads.
“So they weren’t passing anyone, and that curve is not very sharp; they were just not paying attention,” /u/Chaosmusic clarified.
“Give ‘em a break. It’s really hard to reach some of the keyboard with your thumb when you’re texting with one hand. /s,” /u/MonsterBearMan sarcastically added.
In Pennsylvania, driving the wrong way against traffic is typically cited under traffic-control or roadway-use violations, often carrying 2 points on your driving record, though the exact charge depends on the circumstances. Fines commonly range from around $25 to over $100, plus court costs and fees, which can substantially increase the total amount owed. If the conduct is especially dangerous or causes a crash, more serious charges such as reckless driving may be added, bringing higher penalties and additional points.
