Downtown Boston-area driver and Redditor /u/pompous-pomeranian shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier this June (June 29, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a reckless scooter rider riding through this busy, late-night intersection, right through a super late red, causing OP to emergency brake to avoid hitting them, which likely would’ve punted the rider dozens of feet.

The incident happened at the intersection of Columbus Ave and Clarendon St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP approaches the aforementioned intersection going southbound on Clarendon.
From the beginning of the clip, he already has a green light so cross traffic’s been facing a red for several seconds at that point.
Suddenly, a rider on a blue scooter comes blazing past OP, causing OP to emergency brake to avoid T-boning the reckless rider, who seemingly had no sense of self-preservation.
“This is why I still look both ways on a green light,” OP titled the thread.
“Good practice, whether starting from a fresh green, or passing through. My local news had dash/street cam footage of all the red-light running in my city recently. Some crazy mo**s out there,” the top comment from /u/mcee_sharp_v2 reads.
