This driver was likely not paying attention as they approached a super late red light.
Williamson County area driver and Redditor /u/Non-ya9 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in May to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a likely distracted driver in their Tesla Model 3 blow through a red on this rain-soaked, busy Round Rock intersection, causing them to get T-boned by a driver with the right of way.

The incident happened at the intersection of Sunrise Rd. and E Old Settlers Blvd in Round Rock (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is pointed northbound on Sunrise, ready to turn left onto E Old Settlers Blvd.
Traffic going the other way in front of him gets the green to go straight or turn.
At least 5 seconds after the traffic crossing in front of him got a red, and with traffic across from him already halfway through the intersection, a driver in a Tesla Model 3 appears from the left and blatantly runs the red.
With the roads drenched with rain and despite the driver’s best efforts to swerve out of the way, physics wins over, the Tesla skids out of the way and ends up getting T-boned by the unlucky driver leading the pack from the other side.
Thankfully, the impact wasn’t super hard with their vehicles taking most of the damage.
An approaching police officer sees the collision and, in a case of convenient cop, rushes over to direct traffic and presumably take statements.
“8 seconds. They had all day to stop,” the top comment from /u/icewalker42 reads, pointing out how long the Tesla driver had.
“Great job, OP, at making that cop’s life a whole lot easier. That driver ought to have their license tossed in a very deep hole,” /u/NTropyS added.

In Round Rock, Texas, running a red light is generally a Class C misdemeanor traffic citation with fines that can reach about $237 plus court costs. If the violation involved a crash, Round Rock Municipal Court lists an “accident moving violation” fine of $257. (City of Round Rock)
