Two idiots on display: one who doesn’t understand they have their own merge lane and another who can’t patiently wait two seconds.
Williamson County-area driver and Redditor /u/jpg4878 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in July (July 26, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a Silver Hyundai Sonata not knowing the road they’re merging onto has their own dedicated acceleration lane, no yielding needed.
But, on top of that, instead of waiting for that ignorant driver to self-correct, another driver in a Jeep Wrangler decides to take matters into their own hands to use their Wrangler’s off-road capabilities to bypass traffic, using a pedestrian sidewalk.
The incident happened off an I-35 frontage road as drivers turned right and merged onto US-79 (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP presumably just exited the 35 and is now slipping into the right turn lane headed due east onto the 79.
As this overhead shows, traffic turning right does have its own acceleration lane so no yielding is needed.
However, OP is following a driver in a silver Hyundai Sonata who doesn’t understand that and instead we see the Sonata driver pause and come to a complete stop.
This enrages a driver in a Jeep Wrangler in front of OP, who decides to take matters into his own hands by using his large tires to jump a curb to overtake.
In doing so, they startle the Sonata driver, who, by this time, is now merging onto US-79 but now swerves into the other lane to avoid the “fu**ing idiot,” in the words of OP.

“I saw a tweet that said “if your IQ is over 96, they won’t even sell you a Jeep,” /u/PissDrunxPreme hilariously added.
“The Jeep is an absolute moron, and that’s unacceptable. But also, it really looks like that lead car has an entire open lane to proceed forward into and is just sitting there instead,” /u/appa-ate-momo pointed out.
