Hennessey Performance dropped a bombshell on Dodge’s upcoming Dodge Demon by unveiling its 1000 HP Exorcist.

If there’s one thing that Hennessey does well it’s delivering a high horsepower alternatives complete with a factory warranty without all the marketing fuss and brouhaha. According to Hennessey Performance from their official press release they dropped earlier yesterday (Apr. 4,2017) Hennessey aims to bring the fight right to Dodge’s doorstep with a Dodge Demon fighter quite aptly called “The Exorcist.” Essentially Hennessey performance has taken an already well-equipped Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and slapped on a larger supercharger with all the supporting mods to give the Zl1 an extra 350 HP and 316 lb-ft kick in the pants. Check out a couple of pictures of The Exorcist below.

Dodge has been going on an already four-month campaign hyping up the Dodge Demon as an upgraded Dodge Challenger Hellcat dropping bits and pieces of information here and there but never giving us what we want to know. Conservative estimates put the Dodge Demon somewhere in the range of 760 HP and the fact that the Demon can hit 60 MPH in three seconds with the quarter-mile gone in 10.5 seconds. Conveniently enough, on paper at least, the Exorcist beats all those numbers.

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is essentially a great package as it stands. Stock on the ZL1 is Chevrolet’s LT4 supercharged up to 650 HP and 650 lb-ft. Hennessey Performance throws on a higher performing supercharger and intercooler system and boosts it up to 14 PSI. This is good enough for 1000 BHP and 966 lb-ft. Since the Zl1 can be had with either a 10-speed auto or a six-speed manual, the upgrade package is compatible with each. You’ll have to upgrade your automatic if you do have the 10-speed.

Hennessey performance promises Demon beating performance.

Equipped with rear drag radial tires, The Exorcist will deliver 0-60 mph times under 3 seconds while running the ¼ mile in less than 10 seconds.

The Exorcist package costs $55,000 (not including the Zl1.) That includes a two-year 24,000-mile warranty. A $9,000 drag pack adds 315/30-20 drag radials on 20’s, a drive shaft upgrade, and toolkit (take that Demon.) For just $7,000 you get Hennesey 20’s with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires.

To sweeten the deal Hennessey will let anyone who buys The Exorcist package take delivery of their hotted up ZL1 at Lonestar Motorsports Park in Texas and its 1/4 mile dragstrip all conveniently an hour from Hennessey’s shop.

While the total cost of The Exorcist at $120,000 (car+package) is probably thousands more than the Dodge Demon, you won’t have to wait any longer to get your hands on Demon beating performance. And with a limited run of just 100 Exorcists a year, you’ll be in exclusive company. Consider the Dodge Demon successfully exorcised.
