Honda completes its Civic lineup with both Honda Civic Si coupe and sedan delivering its most powerful Civic si ever.

Ever since the 10th generation Honda Civic was introduced to the public in September back in 2015, Honda enthusiasts have been clamoring for news on both the Type R and the Civic Si, Honda’s sportiest trims. We already have the Type R introduced and now we have the Si. According to Honda on their official press release, they dropped earlier today (Apr. 6, 2017) the 2017 Honda Civic Si coupe and sedan both made their debut. Honda also dropped a 40-second video clip showcasing the Civic Si tearing it up on the track. Check out that video as well as a few press photos that Honda has provided for us below.

The biggest and albeit the elephant in the room for this reveal was the horsepower figure. Honda already leaked the torque figure last week. For both coupe and sedan, the Honda Civic Si makes 205 HP and 192 lb-ft. Compared to the last generation, HP comes in 1300 RPM lower and that 192 lb-ft spans over 70 percent of the rev range coming in 2300 rpm earlier as well.

Honda also pointed that this Civic Si’s chassis was the most capable ever. Civic Si comes with dual pinion electric power steering, sport-tuned suspension with an adaptive damper system, stiffer springs and stabilizer bars, LSD,  including larger brakes and tires. All the above are more pronounced in sports mode in a Civic Si first, driving mode options.

Civic Si sports some distinctive styling cues that set it apart from other Civic trim levels. Out back is a black spoiler, up front Honda has blacked out the front fascia with the intakes larger. Around all four corners, Civic Si includes exclusive 18-inch 10-spoke wheels with 235 mm wide tires.

Inside the interior features more bolstered front seats with red accents. That same red stitching carries over to the doors, steering wheel, and leather shift boot.

Honda assures us that safety is paramount and is aiming for the highest grades from NCAP and the NHTSA.

Both the Honda Civic Si Coupe and Sedan will be built in Ontario, Canada with the engine being produced in Anna, Ohio.

There you have it. The Honda Civic Si is here and ready to take on the competition. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that the larger internet population is already racing the Si against competitors. It would’ve behooved Honda to come out with first driving impressions first before releasing its official press release for a larger picture. We can’t wait to see what other journalists think of this Civic Si on the track. If you’re a Honda fan, we’d recommend staying away from trying to defend Civic Si’s 205 HP anytime soon.
