I’m sorry Geneva but Nissan’s Smokin’ Titan is making a strong case that the 2018 Work Truck Show might be slightly more entertaining.
Are you an avid tailgater who loves to BBQ and is responsible for feeding literally dozens of people at a time? Nissan’s got a truck for you! According to Nissan USA in a press release they dropped earlier today (Mar. 6, 2018) they legit made a real deal smoking BBQ truck complete with a smoker, stoves, and a sink among other accessories. The front of the Smokin Titan is all business and is your standard work truck as they’ve based this smoker truck on the Titan XD King Cab with their 5.6L V8. Inside the truck and out back is where things get interesting.
First off, since smoking BBQ reaches some extreme temperatures approaching 600 degrees, Nissan came up with a solution that seperates the smoker from the rest of the truck.
Nissan lopped off the bed of the truck and placed it onto a B&S Custom trailer. This trailer houses a real deal smoker and char grill which slides out of a custom sliding tray. On this custom trailer is a self-contained sink and water system so you can wash up and prep your food. There’s also storage for coal and wood pellets to keep the firing burning.
Where the truck bed used to be is a CM custom truck bed featuring three double burner stoves each with their own cutting board. Inside the cab of the Titan XD is a Fridge and Freezer unit presumably were you can store your meats and your beverages for longer storage.
Nissan have dubbed this a project vehicle so it’ll be making its rounds at the outdoor adventure shows and exhibitions to get eyes, smartphones, and cameras into their Nissan booth.
So far Nissan dropped some press photos and videos of this truck all nice and shiny. But what’s a BBQ Smoker truck without some cooking going on?
Nissan, hire a crack BBQ specialist to go around the shows with this truck. What’ll really get people to this truck isn’t so much the smoker out back but the smell of that delicious BBQ wafting through the air!
