This mint Milano red 2000 Honda Civic Si is already on pace to break $20,000 on this Bring A Trailer auction.

Like it or not, these golden age Hondas like the first gen NSX, DC2 Acura Integra Type R and certainly the EM1 Honda Civic Si, are fetching a pretty penny. And according to the latest auction that landed on Bring A Trailer earlier yesterday (Mar. 22, 2018) even though the auction isn’t even close to being over, this 2000 Honda Civic Si in Milano Red is on track to break records and sell for more than $20,000.

And if a bidding war starts up between two dedicated buyers, even the title on this article might be a bit premature if perchance this MR EM1 crests $30,000. Check out a couple of photos of this beauty below.

There are two main reasons why this Honda Civic Si is going to be auctioned off for big bucks. First, there’s the mileage. This isn’t ridiculous off the dealer floor mileage of 30 miles or something. At just 10,439 miles, it’s definitely low mileage, like ridiculously rare, but just enough where, if you wanted to, you could drive it a couple thousand miles and not hurt its current value. An EM1 with 30 miles? No one’s driving that one. But an EM1 with 10,000 miles? You probably should drive it a little bit.

Then there’s the paint quality. Honda’s in the late 90’s and early 2000’s were notorious for having unbearably thin paint. Not to mention if you let a 6th gen Honda Civic sit out in the sun for the majority of its life, the clear coat WILL peel off. The paint on this Honda Civic Si is exceptional and the owner’s taken paint readings to prove it.

Take those two points and combine it with the fact that Golden Age Hondas are so desirable right now and you have the recipe for a record-breaking auction.

As it stands, the most a Honda Civic Si has sold for on BAT is $15,500, also a Milano Red Civic Si. But that one had 74,000 miles.

As of this writing, there are five days left in the auction. You bet I’m going to be checking the bid history every day.
