  • Oil- $11.97

You will want to buy a 5 quart jug of SuperTech 5W30 Conventional Motor Oil at Walmart or on If that oil is not available at the store for pickup, you can specify to pick it up at your local store ASAP.

If you’re worried that this oil is not a good oil, I assure you that it will meet and exceed the needs for your Toyota Corolla.

According to your Toyota Corolla manual, your oil should be SAE certified and meet or exceed ILSAC (International Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee) multigrade certification.

Petroleum Quality Institute of America has independently tested SuperTech SAW 5W30 conventional oil and found its claims to be true. Additionally, you can visually see that they’ve SAE certified and labeled this oil to meet ILSAC GF-5 certification, the highest certification for ILSAC.

  • Filter $3.50

You will want to buy a 2-pack FRAM Extra Guard Oil Filters  PH4967 for $7 at Walmart or for store pickup. This will last you for two oil changes at $3.50 a piece.

Although Toyota does not give you an Oil Filter recommendation, the FRAM Extra Guard is a good oil filter. According to FRAM, they use the latest ISO4548-12 testing for all their oil filters with the Fram Extra Guard achieving a capture rate of 95 percent of the dirt particles smaller than 20 microns that can cause harmful engine wear.

If you are still on the fence on this Oil Filter, consider reading through more than 200 reviews of this filter on Amazon or 180 reviews on to decide for yourself.

Also, in my independent research, I’ve come across an official Mobil 1 Extended Oil filter independent test where a FRAM Extended Guard oil filter outperformed their Mobil 1 Oil Filter. I’ve linked that exclusively for you to see here.

A name brand oil filter doesn’t necessarily get you more protection.

That’s it. Oil for $12 plus a filter for $3.50 equals your $15.50 oil change for the 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla.
