With Honda’s new 1.5L Turbo engine already on the market for three years, it was only a matter of time before Hasport paired that gem of an engine with Hondas that need a swift kick in the rear.

While the Honda Fit is a fine little people and mini-cargo mover on its own, Fit enthusiasts always hankered for more power. According to Hasport Performance on their Facebook post earlier today ( Aug. 17, 2018) it looks like they’re finalizing the mount points on a 2007 Honda Fit GD with Honda’s new L15B7 in the engine bay in place of the stock L15A1. Check out their post below.

As you can see in the photo above and the featured photo on this post, I reckon the swap is 90 percent there. From here, I can only assume Hasport will take the prototype mount kit on this Honda Fit and get it ready for production.

With a mount kit like this on the market that means Honda Fit owners can scoop up a fresh L15B7 sitting in some salvage yard somewhere and, given the right knowledge and know-how, almost double their previous power while keeping the same Honda reliability they know and love.

The tail of the tape is pretty clear. Although Honda upped the power quite generously throughout the years, the Honda Fit chassis could definitely handle a power bump if one was thrown its way.

These First gen Fits had a quite pedestrian 109 HP and 105 lb-ft. These new turbo engines put out a whopping 174 HP and 162 lb-ft on the stock 16.5 psi of boost. If you happen to wrangle yourself one of those 1.5L Turbos from the Accord, well, that one’s good for 192 HP and 192 lb-ft AKA a darn good time in a Honda Fit.

With a mount kit for the Honda CR-Z already done and ready to hit the market for the 1.5T swap, I’m assuming Hasport is finalizing this swap so they can introduce both kits at the same time for 2009-2014 Honda Fits. It’s my understanding that a Honda CR-Z swap kit is interchangeable with 2009-2014 (2018?) Honda Fits.

So, hold on to your horses Honda Fit fans, you’ll soon be able to swap in a Honda 1.5T without making your own custom mount kit.

God Bless you, Hasport.

Disclaimer: This is not an ad, I just really like the idea of these newer Honda engine’s shoehorned in a Honda Fit. Heck, if some Chinese company made a knockoff of this kit that’s just as good, I’d write about that one too. But please, China, don’t be a Chad and make a knockoff.
