Tesla just launched its newest vehicle earlier this quarter, a car carrying trailer.
Tesla has ramped up production and deliveries in a big way this quarter as Tesla Model 3s roll off assembly lines, onto trucks, and to customers. But as per Electrek on their latest reporting on Tesla’s latest initiative earlier today (Sept. 24,2018) they’re not waiting on contracted trucking companies to bring in their car trailers, which there’s a shortage of at the moment,Tesla is MAKING their own car trailers. Check out this tweet reply from Elon Musk below.
@elonmusk Leased a Model S for two years in 2016. Have a day one reservation for a M3 AWD. Placed order at end of June. Still don’t have M3 AWD. Lease ends in one week! New customers getting M3 AWD before me? No help from Tesla. I helped keep the lights on at Tesla! Please help? pic.twitter.com/grMvFwJMdm

As mentioned in the tweet above, this Tesla customer tweeted to Elon Musk that his lease on his Tesla Model S is ending soon and he wants his Tesla Model 3 yesterday, a reasonable request seeing he ordered his Tesla Model 3 in June. In response, Elon Musk revealed that they’re overhauling their logistics system in a big way, and that means upgrading their delivery system where bottlenecks exist. In this case, it’s car carrier trailers.
Electrek reports that Tesla Model 3 production is already up to 4,000 Tesla Model 3’s week, a whopping 571 Tesla Model 3’s a day. With a glut of Tesla Model 3’s at their Fremont Factory, Tesla is doing everything they can to get Teslas to owners ASAP.
Earlier this weekend Electrek reports that they’re bypassing a factory delivery altogether and are delivering Tesla Model 3’s straight to where the customer lives.
There’s good reason for this, Tesla received a lot of backlash in the second quarter that ended on June 30 for not turning a profit for its investors, once again, despite posting record revenue.
As Proactive Investors reports, “CEO Elon Musk has predicted Tesla will reach profitability and generate cash flow by its third quarter and reiterated his belief in the quarterly results, but analysts have yet to express the same confidence.”
The third fiscal quarter ends this Sunday so every single Tesla Model 3 delivered is much-needed revenue towards profitability.
Go, Tesla!
