This is a revolutionary idea that will soon become more relevant in the near feature.

I’m surprised something like this hasn’t been invented before but it’s here. According to Car Scoops on their latest report on this revolutionary new way to exercise and drive they published earlier today (Sept. 24,2018) there’s a car that simultaneously allows you to drive and exercise at the same time. Dubbed the Fit Car PPV (or pedal-powered vehicle) outside the Fit Car PPV is a normal looking Audi A4 Avant, but inside, instead of a throttle, there’s a pedal set and handlebars equipped with a handbrake that allows you to control the car’s throttle as you pedal. Check out the informative video from FitCar PPV below.

Contrary to popular belief, the pedaling you do isn’t actually turned into energy, rather the faster you pedal, the wider the throttle opens allowing you to go faster. Presumably, the pedaling resistance is set low enough for the average person to take advantage of for demonstration purposes but can be dialed up for hard-core cyclists thanks to a rotary dial next to the pedals.

Three settings cater the pedaling input to the type of driving you’re doing: a drive-slow setting for slow-moving traffic, a Drive fast setting if you want to pedal at highway speed, and a NO drive setting when you’re stopped in traffic.

There’s already a patent internationally and might see real-world use soon in the Netherlands.

This is game-changing, guys. Consider that, according to Tech Emergence who did a little research on when the top automakers think we’ll achieve Level 5 driving autonomy or self-driving cars where humans have to do nothing to be safe on the road.

Predictions from the likes of Ford, Honda, Hyundai, and Nissan landed around 2020 at the earliest from Toyota to 2030 from Hyundai. I fully believe this will be in our lifetime that we’ll have Level 5 autonomy.

As the advertisements of the future so often point out, people will be able to nap as they travel to their destination. That might be a nice thought for a large majority of people but I reckon some people will want to workout. Enter the technology introduced by this Audi.

You better believe go-getters, people with not a lot of time, and busy people, in general, will squeeze their workout in while in their cars.

For those companies that have patents on this in-car exercise technology, this will be a gold mine.

You heard it here first.
