We already know that Acura has a Turbo V6 in the works and that they’re bringing back the legendary Type S, so, what will the fifth generation Acura TLX look like? Here’s a good estimate!

You know how I love a good rendering when it comes to future Honda’s and Acura’s and my man Hondatalover came through once again with this dope side profile render for the fifth generation Acura TLX. As per Hondatalover on his post on TempleOfVTEC earlier today (Nov. 8. 2018) he combined the aggressive design language Acura put on the new RDX and joined that with the proportions Acura graced us with when they unveiled the Precision Concept more than two years ago. What results is a TLX that gets me super excited about the next generation.

Take a gander at his renderings, only in side profile, in various colors, below!

I can’t wait till Hondatalover renders the front, but this side profile is great, as is. True to Acura TLX’s of generations past, this Acura TLX is front wheel drive biased with SH-AWD. Up front, Acura’s pentagon grill takes center stage. The side profile is taut, sleek, and has a sense of motion befitting the brand. Around all four corners are the Precision Concept wheels as placeholders for whatever Acura comes up with, but they already look great as is. Outback, a rear spoiler juts out, continuing the rear character line that starts at the front of the rear passenger door.

I would not be surprised if the real thing ends up looking similar to this rendering.

Earlier this year I blogged about what’s going to be under the hood of this TLX, a V6 Turbo. Not my words, a V6 Turbo is in the works and it came straight from Acura’s PR head office.

I predicted that this new V6 Turbo would put out something in the neighborhood of 325 HP and 350 lb-ft. Who knows, Acura might throw in a Sport Hybrid variant that’ll boost power numbers close to the RLX Sport Hybrid without eclipsing the RLX’s performance.

Whatever this new generation Acura TLX will look like and how much it’s packing underneath the hood still all remains a mystery, although we do have most of the puzzle pieces. We’re just waiting on Acura to drop us a couple of teasers in the coming months.
