Mario Kart racing coming to Los Angeles at secret location

If you want to dress up in Super Mario Bros. costumes and literally race your friends in real deal Go-Karts, if you’re near Los Angeles this upcoming March, you can!

Up until now, if you wanted to play out your Mario Kart fantasy in real life, I suppose you could buy Nintendo themed Super Mario Bros. costumes on Amazon and head to your nearest Go Kart track. Now that you put it like that, that doesn’t sound like such a bad idea. But, if you’d rather someone did all the work for you, the only places that had real life Mario Kart Racing was in Japan and a handful of locations not in the United States. Not anymore. As per KROQ and their latest blog post earlier today (Nov. 20, 2018) Mario Kart inspired Go Kart racing is coming to Los Angeles for the low, low price of just $55 if you preregister.

Dubbed “Mushroom Racing’ to stay legal for obvious reasons (e.g. not wanting to get sued) this traveling Go Kart race series rents out tracks around the world, provide you with racing costumes, and let you lose on the track for 30 mins for all the heart pumping go-kart racing you want to do. 30 minutes of racing doesn’t sound like a lot, but trust me, that’s more than enough wheel time. Without power steering and with the Go-Kart tossing your body every which way for that long, it can be taxing for the average driver used to their plush Toyota Corolla.

And let’s be honest, you’ll also have plenty of time to snap photos for social media, which is the real reason some people shell out the dough for these types of events.

So, if you want to take out all the guesswork of organizing a Mario Kart track event, “Mushroom Rally” seems like a really cool event to register for.

It would behoove you to register now before all the “influencers” do. It’s LA, after all.
