Although Adam_LZ didn’t make it into Top 16 for his Pro2 début in Orlando, he did deliver, impressing fans and skeptics that he’s the real deal.
The drift community got quite the surprise two weeks ago when Youtuber and all-around drift enthusiast Adam_LZ announced his entry into Round 1 of 4 in Formula Drift’s Pro2 series only after his entry was leaked. Despite a handful of naysayers predicting that Adam_LZ was just a flash in the pan, he did deliver and showed that he can hang with the best of them. As the title hints, although he didn’t make it into tandem runs with a Top 16 placing, he came quite close and would’ve made it if it wasn’t for his second run.
Anyways, here’s his runs below, fast-forward to 34:56 and 1:43:10
His first run, you can tell he had his adrenaline pumping and he was ready to throw down. With a lot to prove (or nothing to prove at all?) Adam_LZ chucks it aggressively into the first corner with a wicked smoke-billowing angle. As Adam_LZ enters the second corner, he’s hitting all his clipping points and still throwing an impressive amount of angle and smoke. With a score of 83, he solidified himself as a solid Pro2 contender.
Here’s another angle of his first run from a fan in the stands.

But, all was for naught, as far as heading into Top 16 was concerned because on his second run it looks like his aggressiveness got the best of him throwing his S15 into the first banked corner with way too much angle, so much so that he couldn’t hold his line, maintain angle, and keep drifting. Straightening out meant a zero.
With so many qualifiers landing an 83 and 84 score, it was their lowest score that determined who advanced to Top 16 so a zero killed his chances moving forward.
Nevertheless, Adam_LZ did get to experience what Pro2 competition was like, met a lot of fans, and more importantly, showed that he can perform under pressure which is what’s important in competition.
Congrats, Adam_LZ and all the best in Round 2. Do you think he’ll bring the heat for Round 2? Let me know in the comments below!
