This 87-year-old lady in South Africa is the original owner of this 1991 Nissan 180SX S13 and has absolutely no plans to sell it to you.

Local South African photog and videographer James Greig almost spit out his coffee when he saw June drive by in her original 1991 Nisan 180SX. Grabbing her info and setting up a shoot, James went about documenting, interviewing and publishing a set of photos sharing the remarkable story of June and her pride and joy, her one-owner 1991 Nissan S13 liftback.

Check out the photos for yourself below.

The above story is worth a read but basically June Bouwer and her husband decided to move out to the countryside. Reluctant at first, June’s husband sweetened the pot with her choice of new car. June could’ve asked for any car, within reason, but being who she is, someone who enjoys something different from everyone else, she spec’d out her 1991 Nissan 180SX.

As an aside, commenters point out that this is really a 200SX with a 1.8 engine but it’s a 180SX. Supposedly, in some markets, including the South African market, even when a 180SX had a larger 2.0T or 2.0 NA engine, they are still called 180SX. This helpful link in the comments should shed some light on the issue.

Anyways, like all cars owned by their original owners, this Nissan was babied throughout its ownership. That means garage kept, and dealership maintenance only, and it shows.

As mentioned, she’s not selling it but plans to hand if off to her kids. Her kids, however, is a different story. It would probably behoove June to get her kids on the same page as her, one of TLC and never selling it that is.

It’s quite the gem and, according to June, she’s only taken it up to 100 MPH once, which probably means this engine might need an Italian tune-up if you know what I mean.

I mean, if you’re going to be a one-owner car person, few cars can beat the simplicity of a good RWD Japanese import.

How cool is June? Let me know your .02 in the comments below.
