The above headline is 100 percent true.
This coronavirus lockdown has us doing uncommon things, and for this Conneticut farmer, it was no exception. 78-year-old retail mogul Martha Stewart shared a photo from her driveway before she literally dropped off some eggs for her neighbor who lived just around the corner. Her car? Oh, just her 2005 Aston Martin DB9, a manual-only vehicle capable of cracking 300 KMH (or 186 MPH in ‘Murican units.)
Check out her win of a photo below.
Eggs are a scarce commodity when it comes to certain staple foods in high demand as of late. There are plenty of eggs to go around, but people keep hoarding them once they’re unloaded off the truck and the supply can’t keep up. That’s a problem for 99 percent of America, but not for people with farms like Martha Stewart.
Martha Stewart has several homes and one of her most famous homes is her 153-acre property in Bedford, Conn which has a sizeable farm, greenhouse, barn, horse paddocks, plenty of gardens, and animals including, yes, a bunch of hens. And hens lay eggs that you can cook. If you’re like Martha and have too many, you get to share them.
Look at all these eggs!
Can you imagine the text exchange she had with her neighbors?
“Hey, it’s me Martha. You have eggs? I’ll stop by in the Aston.”
Anyways about that DB9. Martha doesn’t say what year, but she mentions it’s at least 15-years old. The DB9 is a grand tourer with a honking naturally aspirated 6.0L V12 engine good for 450 HP and 420 lb-ft, most of that power up in the rev range. You can imagine how good that sounds. Oh, and they don’t come in automatic, only manual. Martha’s a true manual enthusiast.
Give it the loud pedal long enough and it’ll hit 186 MPH.
Since you’re here, here’s a video of said exhaust.
According to The Street, “Stewart owns a customized BMW X3, a 1958 Edsel Roundup, and a Toyota.”
I’m guessing nobody knew she had this British brut under a car cover in Connecticut.
The more I learn about Martha Stewart, the more I’m finding out she’s just a bada** lady.
