Ain’t this the best way to get kids interested in cars?

Families are itching for some R&R outside their four walls thanks to weeks of “Safer at Home” and “Shelter in Place.” So when Wisconsin Mom Tara Blaesing came across a “car cruise” in her city on Facebook, she sort of hit “Interested” just in case she felt like having a go at it. After she packed up three of her kids in the back of their Chrysler Town and Country and headed to the Car Cruise did she realize this Cruise wasn’t just some fun drive along, it was a full-on muscle car caravan full of big block Chevys, flat plane crank V8s, and Magnaflow glass packs.

Check out her post below.

Like any friendly car cruise, all are welcome to join in as long as you don’t turn into some hoon. This lovely bunch of gear heads welcomed them with open arms.

Matt Yates, a commenter on her post, put it quite well.

As someone who is in this kind of thing and participates I can 100% tell you that you were welcome there and will always be welcome there. I’m sure a few people shrugged in confusion but without a doubt many understood why you were with them.”

With drivers and passengers mostly keeping to themselves and not exiting their vehicles, any chance catching whatever’s going around are slim to none.

And I’m sure her kids got a kick out of following this loud bunch of cars.

Tara explains how they drove around for an hour, smiling and waving at confused car enthusiasts wondering why some Mom joined this muscle Caravan.

I spent the next hour driving through our small town, smiling, waving and laughing at faces that smiled, waved and laughed right back (and no doubt wondered why my swagger wagon was keeping this kind of company).

On a side note, if I was a betting man I reckon her Town & Country probably wasn’t the slowest in that cruise. The Pentastar V6 finds its home under more than a dozen FCA vehicles including real deal Detroit muscle like the Dodge Avenger, Challenger, and Charger. The T&C’s sprint to 60 in 7.2 seconds might give some other cars there a run for their money.

Coincidentally enough, yours truly did something like this years ago in our town. Bored and cruising around I accidently joined our town’s lowrider cruise down Main St. I even took a video of it.

Sure, there were a handful of people confused why this Honda was in a line of lowered Impalas and Chevelles but no one minded and I, too, had a blast.

I hope Tara and her husband join another fun car cruise soon when this all blows over.

Car cruises are and should be fun for the entire family.
