This Dodge Durango driver allegedly drove through these protesters on purpose.

NY1 reporter Ruschell Boone shared the horrifying moment a Dodge Durango SUV drove through, without stopping, a crowd of peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters walking along 42nd Street in Manhattan, New York City.

As of this moment, authorities and emergency personnel are assessing injuries.

In the video we can see a first generation Dodge Durango driving along 42nd Street, his way of travel blocked by a handful of protesters. We can hear a handful of protesters yell for the driver to stop before we hear the Durango driver hit the accelerator, speeding up to get past.

It’s hard to make out in the video but it sounds like someone was hit.

BLM protests kicked off earlier today as a group of BLM protesters marched and took over much of the northbound West Side Highway.

Several protesters brought traffic to a standstill for close to an hour.

Other protesters blocked the entrance and exit to the Lincoln Tunnel.

Protests have popped up even more so in recent times as more than a dozen people were killed and others were injured around the nation over the course of 24-hours, the latest incident involving a 14-year-old shot in the neck and torso in Jamaica Queens.

Less than 24 hours ago, two BLM protesters in Long Island New York were struck by a driver in a Toyota Rav-4. Neither protester suffered serious injuries. That driver was charged with assault and will appear in court later this year.

It’s unconscionable to think the appropriate response to a mild traffic inconvenience and protesters is to drive through them.

And, if you’re protesting, it’s no longer a choice to assume drivers will be rationale and humane, giving you wide berth for your protest. It’s best to stay vigilant, keeping your head on a swivel.
