Florida drivers got the shock of their lives as a deranged man in b**ty shorts clung for his life on the hood of a big rig, smashing the windshield with his bare hands.

Like clockwork, disturbing yet, “I can’t look away” footage shared by Florida resident Erik Morales shows the shocking moments a Florida man jumped on the hood of a big rig, smashed the windshield with his bare hands, and refused to jump off despite the big rig driver weaving back and forth.

Check out the shocking footage for yourself below.

According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol published shortly after the incident, a passenger in a Toyota SUV recounts how his driver, travelling on the Florida Turnpike, suddenly stopped his car in the middle of the freeway, jumped into traffic, making his way to traffic travelling on the other side.

Choosing a semi-truck seemingly at random, the man jumps on the hood of this big-rig and starts smashing the windshield with his fists. Footage shows the big rig driver weaving back and forth and slamming on his brakes to get this deranged man off the hood of his truck to no avail.

With traffic slowing to a near crawl and reports coming in from drivers, the big rig finally intercepts a Florida State Trooper. The crazed man is detained and is at Wellington Regional Hospital for further evaluation.

Commenters upset that people filming did not call the cops.

In the video we hear a passenger of the man filming, “Should we call the cops” with the filmer responding, “He** no, this is way too good.” Commenters on this video are upset that those filming kept filming instead of calling police.

Jason Thomas says, “Are you f*****g serious?! He could have fell off and been killed being run over. F*****g people and their narcissistic need to go viral with a video instead of actually helping a human being.”

The passenger who asks, “Should we call police” identifies herself as Kendra Sue Krause. According to Krause,

“Cops were called before video taping, my girl was on the phone before video taping started. Sit down, Karen.”

Furthermore, Erik Morales, the man filming maintains that,

“I took video for evidence. You’re d***ed if you do, and you’re damned if you don’t these days. I was surrounded by at least a dozen cars with people on their phones calling the police maybe I should’ve called them to they would’ve came quicker”

A man with mental health issues

This man clearly was not in his right mind based on his actions. The truck driver could’ve handled this situation a little better.

Then again I do not blame the truck driver for taking extreme action. At the end of the day, he was just trying to complete his route to get home to his family (assuming he has one.) It’s safe to assume someone jumping on your hood and banging your windshield does not have your best interest in mind.

Perhaps the rushing Florida wind and his precarious situation shook him out of his mental state, but, by that time, it was already too late.
