This careless driver’s spa day was temporarily put on hold after making a sudden left turn from the WRONG lane.

Cobb County-area driver and Redditor /u/Creepy_Squash shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in June (June 17, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a careless driver making a sudden left turn from the wrong lane right in front of this dashcam owner, who admittedly was in an almost 30-year-old Jeep without modern ABS.

Check out the near-collision below, with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened near the intersection of Terrell Mill Road and Water Pl (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP turns right, headed southbound into Water Pl towards United Church and the intersection with The Exchange SE.

Suddenly, a driver in a black Volkswagen hatch turns left, in front of him, and from the far right lane, into the parking lot of Soleil Serenity Spa.

OP does his best to emergency-brake and swerve out of the way in a 28-year-old Jeep Wrangler without ABS; it’s nearly impossible to stop on a dime.

Thankfully, the other driver realizes a collision can occur and swerves out of the way, too, avoiding their own t-bone.

“Driving my 28-year-old Jeep without ABS. You can hear the tires locking up as I tried to avoid the driver,” OP clarified in the comments.

“I ride a motorcycle in Atlanta. I’ve reached a new, higher level of defensive driving,” /u/naonatu shared.

“I live in Smyrna. They don’t get any better outside the perimeter either….Vote for MARTA expansions, please!! More trains means fewer people on the roads and less of this BS!!,” local /u/crazysurferdude15 added.

In Atlanta, GA, making a turn from the wrong lane is typically charged as an improper turn or failure to obey a traffic control device under Georgia law (often O.C.G.A. § 40-6-120 or related lane-control statutes). This is usually a 3-point violation on your driving record, though it can vary slightly depending on how the officer codes the citation and whether it contributed to a near-collision or crash. Fines typically range from $60 to $200+ before court fees, with total cost often reaching $150–$400+ depending on county surcharges and court handling in Fulton/Cobb/DeKalb.
