If you’re headed to other stores on the other side of more than two lanes of opposing traffic, there’s often a better way.

Reddit user /u/MoosenMeows shared dashcam footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a Honda Pilot exiting said Costco in Bayonne, NJ T-Boning another car as they attempted to literally drive through multiple lanes of traffic going both ways on Goldsborough Dr. to reach stores on the other side

Check out the bone-head traffic maneuver for yourself below.

The accident happened, as mentioned, exiting Costco near the intersection of Chosin Few Way and Goldsborough Dr. (Click here to see the location on Google Maps)

In the video, we can see the Pilot driver inching their way out of the Costco driveway to attempt a left turn.

It’s not an uncommon move, drivers attempt this left turn all the time.

It is, however, a slightly more complicated, time-consuming, and dangerous move compared to making a right and flipping a U a block away.

It’s especially tricky given there’s no center turn lane.

It requires whoever is attempting such a turn to make absolutely sure both ways of traffic are clear which, on normally busy street, could take more than a minute to safely execute.

“There was another way around that would have led her to make a left turn into the parking lot, /u/MoosnMeows replies in the thread. “She chose the most difficult route for whatever reason. So unnecessary aggression.”

If you click the Google Maps link above, OP’s right, there’s another exit onto Chosin Way which would set that Pilot up to make a left turn into the aforementioned CVS parking lot.

If you frequent this Costco, take a page from this Pilot’s learned lesson and, if you want to head across the street, it’s better to use the other exit.
