Two drivers running a red light is a coincidence, but three is a problem.

Presumed Charlotte, NC resident and Redditor /u/Practical-Third-977 shared dashcam footage from Oct 28, 2023 to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the surprising moment three drivers all blow through a red light at a major intersection within a 10-second span.

/u/Practical-Third-977’s thread and video is embedded below. It’s marked NSFW because OP shouts a profanity, and understandably so.

[OC] 3 idiots, 1 traffic light
byu/Practical-Third-977 inIdiotsInCars

The incident happened near the intersection of Redwood Ave/N. Davidson St. and East Sugar Creek Rd. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s video shows, this is a standard, run-of-the-mill four way intersection.

It’s worth noting it’s close to 8 P.M. on a Saturday on Halloween weekend and the night before a Panthers-Texans game, high time for bad driving as people.

The first idiot, a Charlotte Area Transit System bus driver, barely makes the cut for being an idiot because the light did technically turn red, but they technically still ran a red light.

The 2nd idiot is a bona fide idiot because the light had been red for a full 7-8 seconds by the time they drove across OP’s direction of travel with the green light.

The third idiot clearly did not have a green turn arrow yet turned anyway.

“#3 was young a driver and looked scared as s*** and the passenger assumed the crash position,” OP comments.

“I have some blame I guess…I was scanning the intersection after #2 for another one, thinking there’s no way the actual #3 is going to turn in front of me after what just happened. I thought wrong.”

“Hat Trick, Congrats!” /u/Fiveofthem commented.

“Turn your invisibility cloak off. It’s a button under the steering wheel,/u/notinferno hilariously added.

This just demonstrates that regardless if you think it’s safe to enter an intersection, it’s always a good idea to proceed with caution.

And, as always, here’s another reminder to get yourself a dashcam, too.
