This Chevrolet S-10 driver would rather spend $280 on a set of rear tires than yield to oncoming traffic.

Presumed Newark, DE resident and Redditor /u/dchap1 posted up iPhone footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the perplexing moment a driver in a beat up Chevrolet S-10 pickup decided to rip a fan burnout in front of a driver entering the Casho Mill Underpass instead of yielding.

Check out the dashcam footage for yourself below.

As mentioned, this happened at Newark’s infamously low Casho Mill Underpass (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s smartphone footage shows, he’s entering the Casho Mill Underpass, a single lane road shared by opposing traffic, on the side without a yield sign.

“This is happening,” we hear OP say.

As this screenshot shows, the Chevrolet S-10 driver has a yield sign.

As /u/AdamHughey put it,

“The traffic coming towards the camera has the only yield sign for this tunnel/bridge pass. Even if the red truck wasn’t first, the black truck should have waited.”

And if the start of the video is any kind of proof who showed up first, the driver in the Ford Truck had to be there before the S-10, seeing how he’s already almost through.

Instead of yielding, the S-10 driver decides to do a burnout?

It’s quite a smokey one as his burnout engulfs the entire underpass and the street behind him.

Reluctantly deciding not to engage any further, the driver in the red Ford Truck reverses out of there, the driver in the S-10 forcing his way through.

“I can’t see the other side!,” OP’s daughter says.

OP commented that he returned later in the day and found out that the S-10 pulled off a one tire fire burnout.

” I went back through the underpass a little while ago, long black tire strip running on the road. Only one though, so one wheel drive Chevy hahaha.”

Like almost all states, a burnout is an exhibition of speed in Delaware and is punishable by either a fine or jail time.
