A Jeep Wrangler would’ve easily and unfortunately lost a head on collision with an entire, loaded semi truck and trailer.

Semi-truck driver and Redditor /u/Prudent-Dentist-1439 shared the harebrained moment a Jeep Wrangler driver in Youngstown, OH drove into opposing traffic overtaking another car over a double-solid yellow line and came within inches of colliding with his semi.

His thread is linked here, and his video embedded below.

This incident took place in Youngstown, OH on State Route 46 near the intersection with N Canfield Niles Road (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s video shows, he’s driving a loaded semi truck and trailer and is making a left turn, presumably headed to the nearby Sheetz.

Because his semi is as long as it is, he has to turn into the right lane before merging back into the left lane.

“Because semi trucks are big and long and require more space to turn. Were I in the left turn lane, my truck would go into the right turn lane, so the trailer can clear the opposing lanes. Of course, after I complete the turn, I make sure the left lane is clear before merging.”

After he’s changed lanes back into the left lane and begins to head into another left turn lane into Sheetz, a driver in a Jeep Wrangler can be seen coming from the opposite direction headed straight for OP.

For some harebrained reason, the Wrangler driver decides to pull an illegal maneuver and overtake over double solid yellow lines, driving into oncoming traffic.

With a tanker semi to his right, and the car the Wrangler’s overtaking approaching on his left, he can’t easily swerve out of the way.

The best he can do is stop quick.

The driver in the Wrangler dangerously threads the needle between the van he’s passing and OP’s semi, coming within inches of a collision.

OP can be heard honking his horn.

“That’s, that’s just amazing. I could never be any kind of commercial driver, I’d be driven to some kind of homicidal outrage,” /u/CaptnHaddock commented.

“What a P*S. Glad you could stop in time for your sake,” /u/PedaniusDioscorides replied.

“What a fu***ng moron. It’s quite obvious that whoever was driving that Jeep is a special kind of idiot, and is maybe even a bit eager to be sandwiched.,” /u/Impressive_Drama_377 added.

In Ohio, crossing double yellow lines to overtake is a marked lane violation, subject to at least a $150 fine before fees and two points on your record.
