The person filming and others think this convertible was stolen, the driver was DUI, or a combination of both.

If you’re looking for a late model Chevrolet Camaro Convertible in white in Northeast Philidelphia, this may be it.

New Philly resident and Redditor /u/VendaAiCCultist shared smartphone footage they shot to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the hare brained moment when a driver in said Camaro Convertible slammed headfirst into a traffic light pole after drifting.

Check out the footage for yourself below.

[OC] NE Philadelphia (forgive the camerawork. Something about living in the moment)

The incident happened at the intersection of Aramingo Ave. and Ontario St. in Philadelphia, PA (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s smartphone footage shows, he’s filming in what looks like the middle of the night from the ShoppersWorld parking lot.

A white Chevrolet Camaro Convertible can be seen drifting, Manji-Style, back and forth along Aramingo Ave.

After losing control and spinning a full 360, the Camaro driver drives forward and slams into, at low speed, a traffic signal at the aforementioned intersection.

The driver crawls out of the driver’s seat and into the passenger seat of a white SUV following close behind him.

The Camaro Convertible is left running, crashed at that light pole.

“He hit the pedestrian crosswalk button bc it was taking too long to turn,” /u/BallCreem humorously commented.

“Yeah, that was stolen,” /u/Soronya replied.

“Damn this is definitely evidence the police wanna see if it’s indeed OC. That dude just smashed up a stolen Mustang Camaro….almost nailed that 360 tho.,” /u/rob71788 added.

“I cannot fathom taking something that someone worked so hard for because you want 20 minutes of fun. The annoying part is that if they do catch him they’ll probably just release him back to his parents,” /u/Eggith empathetically commented.

Although, from a distance, the damage doesn’t sound too bad, if run through insurance, it’s likely thousands of dollars in damage.

A shame that kids being hoons don’t respect theirs or other people’s property.
