Hollywood, FL: Impatient Box Truck Driver Makes Illegal U-Turn From Wrong Lane On His Way To McDonald’s

The owner of the truck is Luis Brian Tire Service in Miami

Presumed Floridian and Redditor /u/BipLane99 posted up dashcam footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the harebrained moment a driver in a Luis Brian Tire Service truck made an illegal U-turn from the wrong lane, almost causing a collision with another driver turning left.

The accident happened near the entrance to Dania Pointe in Hollywood, FL at the intersection of Sterling Rd. and Oakwood Blvd (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s video shows, he’s behind a driver in a Toyota Tacoma, both ready to make a left or U-Turn.

When they get the green arrow and the right of way to turn, a box truck driver as seen in this screenshot below makes a U-turn from the wrong lane.

Thankfully, the Tacoma driver stops just in time, avoiding a slow, but inconvenient T-boning.

If that wasn’t enough, OP follows the box truck driver into a McDonald’s, as they’re both headed in the same general direction, where we see the box truck driver stop and reverse, almost hitting OP, since he missed the drive-thru entrance.

“Luckily he wasn’t in a company vehicle with the phone number largely stamped or anything,” /u/DrPibbMD humorously commented.

“This guy shouldn’t have a license,” /u/Ronchee1 added.

“He was in a McHurry,” /u/Hazasulin quipped.

Redditors didn’t hold back, pummeling this Tire Service’s Google Review page with a bunch of one star reviews.

In Florida, making an illegal U-Turn like this is subject to a base fine up to $300 and up to 5 points on your driving record.

Hopefully this box truck driver for Luis Brian Tire Service pays more attention on the road as this maneuver could’ve turned out a whole lot worse.
