Presumed Delawarean and Redditor /u/Ramsey_S shared head-shaking dashcam footage from Milford from earlier last month (May 9, 2024) showing the hare-brained moment a driver exiting Lexus Dr onto Route 36 drove against traffic all because /u/Ramsey_S didn’t slow down to let her merge.

Check out the dashcam footage for yourself below.

[oc] Patience is a virtue not everyone possesses. The girl was throwing her hands up when I drove by her, nearly pulling out into me screaming something, then the near head-on. Glad the other driver was paying attention. I stood on the brakes to give her a gap to get back into.

The incident happened just past the T-intersection of Lexus Dr. and Shawnee Rd (Route 36) as drivers exiting from Redner’s Warehouse Markets exit onto Shawnee (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s footage shows, he’s driving along Shawnee Rd, passing the T-intersection with Lexus Dr. when a woman driver in a white Chevrolet Spark pokes the front of her car out into the T-intersection, halfway into Shawnee Rd.

“The girl was throwing up her hands when I drove by her, nearly pulling out into me screaming something,” OP’s title reads.

In a fit of road rage and retaliation, the woman drives against traffic in the opposing lane to pass /u/Ramsey_S.

Not thinking this through, she’s headed straight for a car headed the right way.

OP slowed from around 39 MPH to just 18 MPH to let the hooligan pass.

“I was turning into my driveway with my signal on, so when she appeared in my driver’s side mirror, I hit the brakes to give her more room to get in and avoid the impact that seemed like it was coming. I already had my foot on the brake to make the turn,” /u/OP clarified.

“Glad the other driver was paying attention. I stood on the brakes to give her a gap to get back into.”

The opposing driver swerves out of the way, too, to let her pass.

“Nice defensive driving, you possibly saved some lives there. I am constantly amazed at the risks some people take because they’re in a hurry,” /u/Silly_Mycologist3213 commented.

“All of that to save 3 seconds on her trip,” /u/nachos3 humorously added.

Rarely, if ever, do road rage maneuvers like this save you time and make you feel better about yourself.

If anything, you end up saving no time and only increase your chances of getting into an accident.

At T-intersections like this, traffic turning right or left must yield to traffic already there, and that means being patient and slotting in accordingly.

It’s easier said than done, but, like all things hard, it takes time and patience to practice cool-headed, calm, and defensive driving.

Road rage, it’s just not worth it.
