In quick succession, a reckless driver in Medford is caught on dashcam cutting off two vehicles, one an enormous box truck.

Oregonian and the girlfriend of Redditor /u/HazySpace420 shared head-shaking dashcam footage from earlier this August (Aug 7, 2024) from Medford to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a reckless driver in a Hyundai Santa Fe cutting OP’s GF off, and a box truck, too, one after the other.

Check out her dashcam video below.

The incidents happened near the 300 block of Mystic Ave and shortly after this Hyundai merged onto the Northern Expressway (I-95) (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As her dashcam footage shows, she’s driving along Mystic Ave in the left lane when, suddenly, a driver in a blue Hyundai Santa Fe (License Plate # 5ABC34) dangerously cuts her off.

She comes within inches of the other driver’s bumper.

If that wasn’t enough, she happens to follow the Santa Fe driver as they merge onto the Northern Expressway and, although they signal, they change lanes into the path of a fast-approaching box truck.

The Box truck driver slams on their brakes to avoid turning totaling their crossover.

In either case, without dashcam footage, it’s a challenge for the insurance adjuster to definitively side with the victim.

“If it’s any consolation she won’t be driving like that for long,” /u/Kracus predicts.

“They did it on purpose. They know you will move or they will hit you. Then they will blame you for not moving. That simple. F*** this person with a cactus,” /u/Mobile_Sprinkles_633 curtly commented.

“When I saw the on-ramp, I just KNEW that person would immediately cut across multiple lanes when merging onto the highway. Never fails with these people,” said /u/PatrickGSR94.

In Oregon, unsafe lane changes like this are a Class D traffic violation subject to a base fine of $115.

Unsafe lane changes like this increase the likelihood of getting into an accident.

As mentioned, without dashcam footage, while insurance might side with you given the collision pattern, it’s a heck of a lot easier with video.

This is your sign to get a dashcam installed, ASAP.
