The guilty driver double downed it wasn’t her fault without knowing the accident was being recorded.
A SoCal Resident shared dashcam footage with Redditor /u/riceilove who then posted it to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit from earlier this week (Aug 29, 2024) showing a driver in Chino failing to yield to cross traffic at a T-Intersection, causing her to T-bone the dashcam owner.
Immediatly after, she denied she was at fault.
Check out the dashcam footage for yourself below.
[OC] Sedan driver had the audacity to DOUBLE DOWN that it wasn’t her fault
byu/riceilove inIdiotsInCars
The incident happened at the T-intersection of El Prado Rd. and Alton St. in Chino, CA (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As OP’s friend’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving along a portion of El Prado Rd. with a (45 MPH speed limit.)
As the driver approaches Alton St, another driver on Alton St. makes a left turn in front of him with plenty of room between them to spare.
Suddenly, less than 50 feet from the T-intersection, another driver immediately following that left turner also turns left into the path of OP’s friend.
If it’s not abundantly clear, drivers on Alton St. have a stop sign and must yield to traffic and pedestrians coming from both directions.
With no time to slow down and react as best he could, OP’s friend swerves a bit out of the way but gets t-boned hard.
OP’s friend just bought this Toyota, a 2024 Toyota RAV-4, a few months ago so it’s practically new.
Here are the photos of the damage.
OP explains that his friend just dropped off his girlfriend, so there was no one in the passenger seat (Thank God.)
“While he was still discombobulated from the collision she walked up to his car saying he hit her lol,” OP describes in a comment.
“When he said no way, she doubled down and was super rude the entire exchange. A cop showed up not long later. Both cars had to be towed.”
OP confirmed the other drivers, including his friend, were properly insured, so, this seems to be an open-and-shut case for insurance to deal with, especially with the dashcam footage.
