This driver towing a utility trailer on Rockledge Blvd. was caught recklessly changing lanes, almost causing an accident.
Floridian and Redditor /u/AJ_Mexico shared Tesla dashcam footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the dangerous moment a driver in a lifted Ford Pickup towing a tandem axle utility trailer recklessly changed lanes almost causing an accident as a result.
Check out his dashcam footage below.

The incident happened near the 1100 Block of Rockledge Blvd in Rockledge, FL (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As his dashcam footage shows, OP is driving along in the middle lane when a driver in a lifted Ford Pickup towing a tandem axle utility trailer appears in the left lane.
Despite towing an extra 1,500 pounds, the driver can be seen tailgating cars in front o of them.

To his credit, we see the driver signal and change lanes but leaves little room between the rear of his trailer and OP’s front bumper.
A single-lane change turns into a multiple-lane change and, in a bid to get in front of the slow drivers he was tailgating, the pickup driver recklessly changes lanes in front of another car leaving no room between them.
“Amazingly, I don’t think the trailer actually hit the black car. It was super close, though. The pickup turned right in a few blocks,” /u/AJ_Mexico clarifies.
This guy demonstrated how not to change lanes towing a utility trailer.
” Changing lanes with a trailer must be done strategically. Unlike a small car, there are no quick moves and no swerving. Changing lanes must be done with a very large gap among cars in the next lane…” spells out advice on M&G Trailer.
“Maintain multiple car lengths of distance in front of and behind you for stopping and changing lanes,” says Silver Moon Trailers.
This time, thankfully nothing came of this driver’s idiotic driving.
However, he tows this trailer regularly, getting into an accident isn’t a matter of if but when.
“Tailgating (with a trailer), changing lanes like a baboon…that dude is a menace,” /u/SATerp commented.
“He definitely forgot he had a trailer,” /u/MDShannon hypothesized.
“As somebody who used to drive commercially and still tows a small boat (or two), stay far away from any vehicle towing a trailer. Semis have a hard time seeing you and can misjudge the far corners of the trailer, especially if they often jump from 48′ to 53′ trailers,” /u/SailingSpark added.
“Pickups and SUVs are not 100% tow vehicles, so the driver’s sometimes “forget” they are there or do not know how to judge how close they are. The more powerful the tow vehicle and the less weight the trailer has, the more likely the driver will forget it is there.”
As mentioned, advice around these lunatics is to steer clear, giving them a wide berth.
Hopefully, Florida State Police will spot this driver’s dangerous towing practices sooner rather than later.
