A Kygo Concert goer blocked a row of 78X Muni Shuttles to BART for over 20 minutes after trying to force himself onto the bus despite the driver’s refusal to let the belligerent rider board.
Presumed Bay Area resident and Redditor /u/st11s shared smartphone footage from last weekend (Oct 5, 2024) showing a belligerent concertgoer attempting to board the 78X MUNI Shuttle to BART at the wrong location.
When denied entry to the bus, the concertgoer blocked the bus driver from driving forward, along with several other 78X Shuttles from moving, for 20 minutes.
Check out their smartphone footage below.
Ahole blocks traffic going from Chase Center to BART

“After Kygo’s concert at Chase Center tonight, this fine individual ran up to a Muni 78X (the shuttle from Chase Center to BART) in the middle of the street at the intersection of 16th and 280 and demanded to board. When the driver would not let him board (driver absolutely in the right here), he stood in front of the bus for the better part of TWENTY MINUTES (from about 11:25-11:45),” /u/st11s captioned their video.
“He blocked not only our bus of about 100 folks trying to catch BART, but also a whole line of 78X shuttles behind us as he blocked the bus lane. He kept flipping off the driver and banging his clipper card against the windshield, as though that was his carte blanche.”
The video shows the belligerent concertgoer attempting to persuade the MUNI Shuttle driver to let him on board.
He appears to be either drunk or under the influence.
The concertgoer’s partner can be seen trying to convince him to drop his protest and just leave to no avail.
Eventually, the partner drops out of frame.
The 78X 16th Street Arena Express is a route that only runs when there is an event at the Chase Center, connecting ticketholders with the 16th Mission BART station.
As this screenshot below shows, the shuttle runs between BART and the Chase Center.
As clarified by another Redditor, this concertgoer attempted to board somewhere along this 1.8-mile route and not at an established stop at the Chase Center.
“What he should have done is wait for the next 22 Fillmore bus,” /u/neBular_cipHer pointed out.
“The bus stop for the 22 is less than a block behind the stopped 78X bus,” /u/misterfuss concurred.
It’s not clear if the driver or any riders called the police.
This behavior falls under disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
According to Criminal Defense Lawyer,
“Disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor in California For most offenses, penalties include up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. Increased penalties may apply to second and subsequent convictions for disorderly conduct.”
A cursory search of the Reddit thread, on Twitter, and other social media reveals no results if this individual was ever identified and cities by authorities.
