A driver was caught on dashcam recklessly driving through this Ft Worth neighborhood before she crashed, head-on, into a tree.
Texan and Redditor /u/Carlost289 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier this October (Oct 8, 2024) from Fort Worth, TX to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a woman in her Dodge Journey recklessly speeding through a residential area moments before she ended up understeering into a tree.
Check out /u/Carlost289’s dashcam footage below.

The accident happened in the 5800 block of Sam Calloway Rd near the intersection with Calloway Ct (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
In the first half of the video, we see a driver in a Dodge Journey overtake OP on the wrong side of the road and continue to speed down Gillham Rd.
“She was coming from a military base. I assumed she caught her significant other cheating,” OP humorously commented.
The dashcam footage cuts to OP driving on Sam Calloway Rd next to CubeSmart with the Journey driver standing outside her vehicle, her Journey crashed, head first, into a tree.
The Journey driver was presumably going too fast, and, without enough traction, discovered what understeer is in the worst way possible.
Tt looks like she’s mostly uninjured, and no other parties were involved.
“Love to see an impatient idiot get into an accident that only ruins their own car. Hopefully, the tree was largely unscathed,” /u/KevinXB commented.
“Looks like they crossed a sidewalk (?) before they hit that tree. They are incredibly lucky that no one was walking on it. No excuse to drive like this on public roads where your lack of skill and excess speed for the road design could end or permanently alter someone’s life,” /u/vigiten4 pointed out.
“As a racing fan, I always appreciate when someone finally understands “understeer” as a concept. Probably would have been easier for them to learn about it BEFORE this though,” /u/duckles77 added.
Thankfully, her actions only affected her.
Hopefully, she’ll have learned a valuable lesson as her actions, as others have mentioned, could’ve easily affected others.
