Pickup truck driver tried to cut a couple of cars to get into a turn lane by driving against traffic, only to do it in front of a police officer.
Presumed Nashville resident and Redditor /u/BraaaaStaaaap shared a case of instant karma from Nashville that happened earlier in November (Nov 21, 2024) showing a driver in a pickup truck driving through what’s essentially a traffic barrier and into oncoming traffic to get a turn lane a couple hundred feet away only to do it in front of a cop and getting pulled over instantly.
Check out the case of convenient cop below.
[OC] Instant Karma on Truck Going onto Oncoming Traffic on Red

The incident happened at the intersection of Murfressboro Pike and Dell Parkway (exact location on the map linked here.)
For context, here’s a zoomed-out view of the intersection. This part of Murfreesboro Pike starts less than a mile away and is a road where workers at a nearby warehouse exit.
You can imagine their mindset, getting off work and heading home.
As OP’s dashcam footage, OP and other traffic on Murfreesboro Pike get the green light to proceed across the intersection with Dell Pkwy.
Suddenly, an impatient driver swings left and goes into oncoming traffic to cut traffic, aiming for a set of turn lanes a couple hundred feet away.
As the first screenshot above shows, the pickup driver drove across an area bordered by two sets of double solid yellow lines and horizontal lines, essentially a traffic barrier that no driver is supposed to go through.
He thought he got away with it until we saw that he passed a police cruiser on his way to the turn lanes up ahead.
The police officer immediately puts on his emergency lights, flips a U-turn, and gets behind the offender to presumably pull them over.
To top it all off, he stops in the middle of the road, too.
In Tennessee, vehicles not driving on the right side of the road are subject to a $146 fine before fees and 4 points on your record.
Failure to obey traffic control devices is subject to a $50 fine and four points on your record.
“Justice b***r. He got lit up and thought he would pull “I’m just making a left, Ocifer” and there is no justifiable left. Escalade or big SUV is a chef’s kiss,” /u/timpdx commented.
“Hope the cop made him sit there for 1/2 hour then bonus ticket for pulling over in the middle of the road,” /u/_jump_yossarian added.
“I am just relieved that the ending is a cop and not an accident with innocent people,” /u/TheLadyRica replied.
Even if they didn’t get caught, this move essentially saves them less than 10 seconds, maybe?
Now, they’ll be a couple of hundred dollars lighter, have a few points in their record, and are now late to whatever they were rushing to.
Most importantly, no one was seriously hurt or injured by their hare-brained maneuver.
