A Tesla driver re-routed their I-15 merge just to cut in front of a dashcam owner for less than two seconds in some sort of petty revenge.

SoCal resident and Redditor /u/SimplyAquaticS-A-P shared some downright hilarious dashcam footage from earlier last week (Dec 3, 2024) from I-15 in Corona showing a driver in a Tesla Model Y aborting their merge just to cut in front of /u/SimplyAquaticS-A-P for the shortest amount of time possible before re-routing.

Check out their dashcam video below with the original thread linked here.

The incident happened on Exit 92 onto El Cerrito Rd, an I-15 off-ramp (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As /u/SimplyAquaticS-A-P’s dashcam footage shows, he’s exiting onto Exit 92.

Up ahead, a driver in a Tesla Model Y seems to have stayed in the exit-only lane and is attempting to stay on the 15.

Instead of just exiting and hopping back on the 15, their re-merging attempt leaves half of their Model Y in the path of oncoming traffic.

OP gives a warning honk to the Model Y as he passes.

This honk seems to have ticked off the Model Y driver because we see the Tesla driver abort their re-merge attempt, pass OP on the right, and cut them off, only partly, for about two seconds.

Pathetic.

After the Tesla driver got their revenge, instead of going straight to head back on the 15, they turned right onto Foothill Parkway as if they meant to go that way all along.

“He got off the highway he was trying to get on just to do… that? What a moron lmao,” /u/pollut3r commented.

“They only wasted their own time just to do that lol. It looks like they meant to stay on the highway, but bailed just to “own” you,” /u/thisisinput concurred.

“Did he really go that far out of his way to brake check you? What a moron,” /u/SomethingIWontRegret added.

Although a stretch, aggressive driving like this is arguably considered reckless, offenders in California are subject to a fine of up to $1,000 and/or up to 90 days in jail.
