This Cadillac driver’s indecisiveness led to a three-car wreck.

Grand Parkway driver and Redditor /u/Joe_Traveling shared shocking dashcam footage from earlier this week (January 3, 2025) from State Highway 99 showing the disastrous results of a Cadillac driver’s indecisiveness leading to a crash that roped in two more vehicles.

Check out /u/Joe_Traveling’s dashcam footage below.

As mentioned the incident happened along State Highway 99/Grand Parkway in Katy, TX (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s traveling in Lane #2 of this multi-lane freeway.

With ongoing construction and one or two lanes closed off, this section of the freeway seems to be in constant flux.

As such, a lady driver in a Cadillac ATS ahead of OP approaches a section of the Highway where lanes split towards Interstate 10, divided by a long gore point that leads to a traffic attenuator.

The driver in the ATS waits too long to decide if she wants to get on or off the Grand Parkway and decides to stay on.

She swerves back onto the 99 a hair too late and grazes the corner of the traffic attenuator.

This sends her spinning towards a driver in a Jeep Gladiator who does everything they can to swerve out of the way but T-bones the Cadillac regardless.

Both are redirected into the path of a driver approaching in a silver Ram Truck, who hits the rear of the Jeep Gladiator head-on.

The Gladiator can be seen flipping and landing on its side.

Miraculously, OP does not get mixed up in the crash despite being feet away from the ensuing mayhem.

“There are very poor construction markings, and it’s confusing as it just changed, but they still had plenty of time to decide to merge right or get off to the left. The issue is she saw the barriers and just didn’t commit,” OP explained.

“I stopped to help people and gave everyone involved a copy of the video.”

Unfortunately, there were several injuries as a result.

“She (the lady in the black Cadillac) lived but was taken away in an ambulance. The Jeep driver had back fractures…”

“You can tell the Cadillac driver fixated on their mirror and whether the Jeep was going to let them in, entirely not looking where they were going before they hit the barrier. All that just to not get off at the exit and back on. The Jeep wouldn’t have gotten totally creamed if they didn’t try to avoid them, that looked brutal,” /u/Trick-Acadia293 hypothesized.

“Regardless of signage that road barrier has bright red and yellow stripes that should have been seen a quarter of a mile away,” /u/ZEducational-Title761 commented.

“Proper following distance apparently optional in that universe,” /u/BrewCityChaserV2 pointed out.

This unfortunate incident illustrates the importance of being aware of your surroundings and to not make hasty/risky maneuvers at the last second.

As /u/BrewCityChaserV2 pointed out, safe following distances may have mitigated some of the collateral damage, too.
