Driver in electric Volvo takes revenge on dashcam owner for supposedly not being given enough space to make a last-second lane change.

SoCal commuter and Redditor /u/mo0o0o0o00o shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in January (Jan 12, 2025) from CA-60 to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in an expensive Polestar (Volvo) electric vehicle making a last-second lane change to make their exit, only to give the dashcam owner an aggressive brake check, multiple times.

The main incident happened in Diamond Bar on the CA-60 just before the exit onto 57 North (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s video shows, he’s slotted into the correct lane to merge onto 57 north from the 60.

A driver in a white Polestar 2 can be seen pulling diagonal to OP and, over a solid white line (meant to discourage merging at the last second) almost simultaneously signaling and changing lanes in front of OP.

The driver in the Polestar, feeling that OP had not given them enough space to merge safely, takes their revenge on OP and brake checks OP hard, twice.

With both headed towards the 57, OP gets a chance to drive by the Polestar driver whereas the Polestar driver is seen giving OP the middle finger out the window.

“I know EXACTLY where this is. Incredibly on-brand, I do everything I can do to avoid this s***show of an interchange,” /u/CarbonPhoenix96 added.

Brake Checking is illegal, violators in California are subject to a fine of $238 before fees and one point on their driving record.
