Milliseconds separated this dashcam owner from getting T-boned and from what happened, narrowly avoiding an accident.
Missouri driver and Redditor /u/JTD2013 shared dashcam footage from Kansas City from earlier this January (Jan 17, 2025) showing the heart-stopping moment a driver in a Ford Transit Connect blew a stop sign at a two-way stop narrowly missing OP by what looks like inches.
Check out his dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of N Main St. and NW 85th Terrace in Kansas City, MO (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As his dashcam footage shows, OP is driving along 85th when he approaches the intersection with N Main St.
Drivers along N Main St have a stop sign on either side.
Suddenly, OP sees a driver in a white Ford Transit Connect van not slow, at all, continuing through the intersection seemingly headed toward OP.
Like any driver, OP presumes the driver would slow, but they don’t.
OP gives a quick swerve to mitigate what looked to be a certain crash.
The driver in the white Ford Transit Connect misses OP’s driver’s side door by what looks like mere inches.
“Whoa. S***. Jesus F***ing Chr***,” OP exclaims, and rightfully so.
“Man that was close you got lucky,” /u/Redheff commented.
“Holy s***. Most titles exaggerate. Not this one,” /u/styckx added.
“I would be making the fastest U-turn anyone’s ever seen,” /u/exprssve replied.
And, when asked what he would eventually do when he caught up with the offending driver.
” (I would) reach into the bag of spark plug fragments I keep in my center console and roll my window down.”
I don’t endorse this kind of road rage but I do understand where this commenter’s coming from.
Stop Sign runners in Kansas City are subject to a $75 fine before fees.
